"Together we have a lot of fun"Easter2009-3

The social committee is without a doubt one of the devoted group of volunteers we are privileged to have in our association.  Every year they spearhead a number of events and activities designed to provide an open and welcoming environment for our neighbours.  The importance of nurturing our sense of community makes Watercolours one of the safest and enjoyable neighbourhoods in the GTA.  The social committee organizes the following events annually:

    • Summer BBQ (June)
    • Egg Hunt (Spring)
    • Winter Wonderland (December)
    • Griswald Award for Best Decorated House (December)
    • Dinner Event (Spring)

  • Safety and Security

Watercolours Neighbourhood WatchOne of the best defenses against mischief and crime in a community is to foster the advice of "knowing your neighbour".  This is one of the most powerful benefits of an association such as ours.  By welcoming and sharing information about your concerns, we can better assess, as a community how to keep our neighbourhood safe.   This approach, for example,  has helped curb and reduce incidences of vandalism.

Current initiatives include maintaining a relationship with our local law enforcement (Liaison Officer) and political leaders, funding off-duty police survelliance at Halloween, coordinatng parent volunteer patrols and providing a reporting form to submit incidences of crime or mischief.

  • Membership

member iconThe strenght of our association comes from the pool of volunteers spearheading various committees, but more importantly it is our membership that provides us with the strenght to protect and promote our community.  Our association is your voice to our political leaders and neighbouring community.  Consider joining so you can participate in making this a great community.

Our membership committees' primary responsibiity is to actively encourage all our neighbours to join for a nominal yearly fee.
