The Lorne Park Watercolours Residents' Association (LPWRA) was established in 2005 and has over 200 members. Our goals in establishing this Association was to protect and promote the beauty, safety and security of the Watercolours community, provide a forum for residents to get together and discuss common issues and to develop a true community with that great neighbourhood feeling. We are pleased to let you know that the LPWRA has been largely successful in meeting its objectives because of its wonderful members. It is also because of the members that the Association will continue its work to ensure Lorne Park Watercolours remains a wonderful place for our families to live.
Here is a list of just some of our achievements and ongoing initiatives:
- Successfully coordinated the installation of custom street and traffic signs.
- Launched a website and online newsletter to keep our members updated and in touch with community events and concerns.
- Actively monitored and addressed incidents of vandalism and mischief in our neighbourhood.
- Held and sponsored several community events including our Annual Summer BBQ, Bingo Night, Community Sporting Events and Easter Egg Hunts
- Dealt with concerns of the condition of the pond
- Successfully prevented the installation of hydro poles in our community
- Aggressively pursued and were successful in restoring the school boundaries of Lorne Park Secondary School to include Lorne Park Watercolours within it.
